John
14: 5-6 We know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. |
For tourists who are not familiar with the
English language, it is difficult for them to find themselves around America,
for example. EXIT ? What does this word mean?
Is it so important to know the meaning of this word which comprises only
of four letters? This sign can be found on motorways, in residential areas,
hotels, restaurants, factories, and in all public buildings. If this is
the case, and that is the way it is, then this word plays a great role in
the lives of everyone. This includes, whether on the job or in their leisure
time. EXIT ! In the case of a fire, or of impeding
danger, this sign, when positioned in the right place, helps people to go
in the right direction. EXIT ! How often this
sign is not heeded, and has caused people to suffer pain and even death.
And yet it is positioned helpfully in the right place. A stranger, however,
would not have any idea what he should do with it.
In the book of Acts of Luke, 2,38, there is also the same type of “sign”,
which is disregarded by many as if it were a foreign language. Very few
know what they should do with it in this case too. When you follow this
“sign”, you receive peace and eternal life from God. This “sign”
is still standing, but it will only remain there for so long as God wants
it to.
Perhaps you have not yet noticed it, but the world is burning!! It is not
going to get better. God´s finger is pointing to this “sign”;
whoever wants to be saved, they will have to do something about it now while
the opportunity for salvation is still there. The message of God is the
same one which HE gave to His church in the first century. A great number
have already gone through this door and are saved.
EXIT ? Where are you going, the disciples asked?
The answer from Jesus was: I am the way. Why? EXIT-
means a way out – in the face of danger, it is a way out. (rw)
