Harry Potter - Playing with Fire

This message was posted in the Monthly Flyer of our church in November 2000. In the meantime the Harry-Potter pest has increased and spread even more. Hopefully nobody of you is infected from it, but in case you are, let me tell you, there is a remedy! The Word of God tells us in John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Who wants to belong to the losing side anyway? As a young Christian - Take your stand!

As an avid reader of books, I don't normally tend to deal with books which are in connection with Satanism, magic, witchcraft, and other spiritually dangerous things. However, at this present moment of time I'm shocked about the vast amount of ignorance in our country - a country which also claims to be one of the forerunners of the leading industrial nations. Materialistic prosperity does not necessarily mean that everything is equally well in the spiritual sense. Often, it's the opposite - just like in our nation.

What does all this have to do with "Harry Potter"? There is more to it than just Harry Potter - the boy wizard. The .whole point of the matter is that children are receiving an introduction course in magic and sorcery. Whoever thinks that these books and its contents are harmless should take a look at the facts.

In the USA, where these books are already on the market, there as been a drastic increase in SATANISM. I am mentioning only a few of the facts. Despite protests and citizen's initiatives from the Christian churches and schools taken against these books, which contain Satanic religious beliefs, millions of children are freely surrendering their bodies and their souls to Lucifer by a blood covenant. In 1995 in the USA, there were approximately 100 000 people, mainly adults, who were involved in devil worship activities.

Today, in the year 2000, over 14 million - mainly children - belong to the Church of Satan - thanks largely to the unassuming boy wizard from 4 Privet Drive. "The Harry Potter books are cool 'cause they teach you all about magic and how you can use it to control people and get revenge on your enemies," said 10 year-old Craig Nowell from Hartland, WI, a recent convert to the New Satanic Order of The Black Circle, "I want to learn the Cruciatus Curse, to make my muggle science teacher suffer for giving me a D."

No one is happier about the phenomenon than old-school Satanists, who were struggling to recruit new members prior to the publication of the first Potter book in 1997, "Harry is an absolute godsend to our cause," said the high-priest Egan from the First Church of Satan in Salem, MA. An organisation like ours thrives on new blood — no pun intended - and we've had more applicants than we can handle lately. And, of course, practically all of them are virgins, which is gravy."

With membership in Satanic temples reaching critical mass in some areas, many children have been forced to start their own new organisations to worship the Lord of lies. Houston/TX, 11 year-old Bradly Winter, who purchased the "Goblet of Fire" with his own allowance money at the stroke of midnight on the 8th of July 2000, organized his own club, Potterites To Destroy Jesus, with his neighbourhood pals. An admission fee of $ 6,66 grants membership to any applicant willing to curse the name of God (Jesus) and have a lightning bolt carved into his or her forehead with an iron dagger."The Harry Potter books are awesome!" Bradley said, "When I grow up, I'm going to learn Necromancy (calling up spirits - black magic) and summon greater demons to Earth." Real curses and satanic rituals are described in these books. This is no longer just kiddy stuff.

Numerous educators in the USA are praising the books for getting children excited about reading. And what about the author herself? Satan always finds people, who knowingly or unknowingly are working for him. Rowling, a former teacher in the UK, who promotes Satanism through her books, is only one of the many tools he uses. The blind leads the blinds and they all fall into the ditch. (Luke 6:39)

* After a personal telephone conversation about this book on the 20th of October 2000 with a former leader of a Satanic group at the University of Notre Dame, he said, "...the things which are done in the Harry Potter books are authentic and real. You can barely distinguish between good and evil. The boy is just like his teacher. These books are very destructive. Unfortunately, only a few people realize this for they've already been deceived."

The Saarland SWV newspaper wrote: In Saarbrücken, on the night of the 13th of October until the 14th of October 2000, people gathered together to read Harry Potter books in several libraries in the Saarland. Celebrations also took place in the celler vaults of the regional parliament, which were decorated in such a way to create a spooky atmosphere. Even the president of the regional parliament in Saarland, Hans Ley, and the Minister of Culture, J. Schreier, showed their approval about the creepy function taking place in connection with Harry Potter.

* That's terrible, but who cares anyway? When is the time going to come that Harry Potter books will be a part of the curriculum in the schools? Is there an explanation for what's going on? Of course, children and the youth are continually bombarded with action-packed drama, exciting adventure, horror and terror. Hollywood has now become incapable of producing something new which will cause the children to get a thrill out of it. Parents have failed to keep an eye on that what their children are reading and doing. It's not only going to be the case in the USA for the way things are, but it's also going to take place here in this country if people don't stand up where they at as Christians for Jesus Christ and pay attention to what they're doing and what their children are doing!

* And what's God doing about all it? He gives us the choice to decide who we want to serve. He Himself has set a day when HE will judge all those that have mocked Him. Lucifer, the great deceiver, will have the opportunity to celebrate his glory and power by prancing around in the lake of fire for all eternity. Revelation 20,10;21,8. (rw)
