For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

- The ways of God -

Once upon a time there was an old hermit, he always complained about God's ways. One day, he was showed something in a dream, which caused him to keep quiet thereafter. A messenger from God appeared to him. He told him to go with him. They entered into a house, where they received a warm welcome. The master of the house said, "I'm celebrating a great day today. My enemy has reconciled himself with me, and has sent me a golden cup as a token of our friendship."

On the next day, the hermit happened to see how God's messenger took the golden cup with him, which caused him to get angry. "Quiet! So are the ways of God!" Soon after, they entered into another house. The master of the house, who was a very stingy man, was cursing about these unwanted guests and made things very unpleasant for them. "It's time to leave", God's messenger said, and he gave the golden cup to the master of the house! The hermit wanted to kick up a fuss about this.., "Quiet! So are the ways of God!"

In the evening, they approached a man who was very sad, because despite all his hard work, he didn't seem to be getting any further and always seemed to have bad luck, "God will help him", the messenger said; and just before they left to go on their way, he set the house on fire, "Stop!" the hermit cried.., "Quiet! So are the ways of God!"

On the third day, they approached a man who had a very sinister look about him and was introverted; he was only kind to his son because he loved him very much, When they were ready to leave on the following day, the man said, "I can't accompany you, but I will let my son go with you until the bridge. Make sure that you take care of the child."

"God will protect him", God's messenger answered and proceeded to threw the child into the river. "You hypocritical devil!" cried the hermit, "That has nothing to do with the ways of God!"
In that moment, the messenger changed into an angel full of heavenly glory, "Listen to me as I explain! The cup was poisonous, I saved the kind man from death, but the mean man drank from it, which resulted in his own death! The poor man will find a treasure when he builds his house, which will help him out of all his needs. The man whose child was thrown into the river was a very wicked sinner; the child which he was bringing up would have turned out to have been a murderer. The loss of the child will now cause the heart of the father to turn to God; but the child is now in good hands.
See, now you have had a glimpse of a part of God's wisdom and righteousness. In the future, show more respect and understanding for His hidden ways of doing things!"
