Theme: Why do you need Jesus?

Text: Matthew 1,21 "And she shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins."

There really are people who believe that they do not need Jesus Christ. These people are those that will be lost for all eternity. If there is such a thing as salvation as the holy scriptures teach, then this means that every individual who does not have salvation will be lost. Which person will be lost? Jesus says: Whoever does not believe his gospel! Mark 16,16 "He that believeth not shall be damned." The Bible says that the devils also believe in one God but this does not help them for they will no longer receive forgiveness. The unsaved are those that die in their sins, i.e. they have not received forgiveness of their sins. Romans 6,23 "For the wages of sin is death."

Every person (outside of Jesus Christ) is born in sin because they inherit the sinful, fallen nature of Adam. Everyone is a sinner before Jesus and needs salvation. Each person, wherever he may be upon this planet earth, will be lost without God's help and can expect to face eternal, Divine punishment if he does not turn around. Religion and good works cannot redeem a person from his sinful nature. A person needs the help of Jesus since he cannot save himself by own strength. This freedom does not come through philosophy, meditation, pilgrimages and religions, but alone from Jesus Christ!

Every person can be set free from all sin and from the power of the spirit of this world by Jesus Christ! First of all, however, every person must hear the whole gospel of Jesus and obey Him. The spirit of this world offers every religion possible apart from the truth and people seek out that which they prefer from the choice given. But nothing can save and deliver them from their sin and give them eternal life. Jesus Christ gave His life and blood on the cross for a message which delivers believers from the power of this world which is holding mankind captivity. HE, who created man and the world, took on the form of a human being to save his people i.e. those who believe upon HIM and are obedient to HIM.

We are saved, are you also saved? Jesus has forgiven us, have you also been forgiven? What is the point of being lost? Let yourself be saved so long as it is still the time of grace, for this is God's will. (rw)
