Isaiah 60,2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness
the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen
upon thee.
Genesis 3,23-24 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of
Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. So he drove OUT the man;
and he placed at the east of garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which
turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.
God handed over to Adam the rulership over the earth. He blessed both Adam
and Eve, so that they would populate the earth.
Have you ever thought about how it would be today if the Word of God had been
obeyed? If they had been obedient to God, there would be no sin, no tears, no
sickness, no suffering, and death upon this earth. There would be no wars, poverty,
violence, unrighteousness, no fear, and no evil. (Is.9,6-7; Röm.14,17;
Rev.21,1-8). Throughout the centuries, there would have been a mass population,
and it might even have been necessary to have set up a certain state order.
Everyone would have known that there is only One God, the living WORD, his name
is JESUS.
There would be no Hinduism, no Islam -Allah would be unknown to them, no idol
worship and no religions - all these things would seem strange to the human
race because they know their God! Nothing would be found about evolution in
the schoolbooks, but instead that the Creator created everything by His powerful
Word. They would pray in the schools, everything would be different. It would
be so completely different that we can hardly picture it. But why did things
turn out different?
As a result of Adam giving his authority and right to rule over the earth to
Lucifer, on account of his sin, all the blessings which he had fell away. Through
his disobedience to God, Adam handed his authority over to Satan. From now on
Lucifer would rule upon this earth and over the people who were yet to come!
As a consequence of this one sole sin of Adam, more happened than what we think.
Both of them lost the robe of righteousness and holiness with which God had
clothed them. Their immortal bodies became mortal, and God cast them out of
Paradise.
The spiritual light of God, his glory which illuminated the whole earth, withdrew
and spiritual darkness began from then on to cover the earth and its inhabitants,
as Isaiah says. Instead of a kingdom of people living in peace, without sin,
fear, and death, Satan and his clan rule this world system (Ps.2,2;Eph.6,12).
This world, even up to this present day, is a kingdom of spiritual darkness,
of sin, of lies, without the rulership of God and in the hands of evil.
It is a kingdom in which there are powers at work, which are controlling the
people and causing destruction on earth, without them even being aware of it
(Ephesians 2,2-4). When Satan offered to Jesus the power to rule over the kingdoms,
if he would only worship him, Jesus did not deny the fact that Satan is lord
over the kingdoms of this world (Mt.4,8-10); for it is his kingdom of spiritual
darkness, which has the appearance of righteousness, peace, the truth, and joy.
But truth and liberty does not come forth out of darkness; for it is not possible
for darkness to bring these things about because they do not exist within it
-for darkness reigns! That is the reason why the world looks like it does: it
is evil and despises God. However, the appearance of man-made religion and righteousness
are unable to fool God.
The Scripture refers to a human race which are in darkness and are prisoners
of sin (Joh.8,34). However, it also talks about someone who came to make a
way out of this darkness and sin. It is the only way which leads out of spiritual
darkness.
Mt.4,16 “The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them
which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up.” Jesus
says, “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk
in darkness, but shall have the light of life. “ Joh.8,12. Jesus Christ
is the door, whoever goes through this door leaves this darkness and comes under
the rule of God. For the person has come from darkness and entered into light.
Joh.12,35
”Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light
with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he
that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth.“
Joh.12,46
“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth
on me should not abide in darkness.”
Jesus Christ is the Way, and whoever follows him will not be lost (Joh.8,12)!
Do you want to remain in darkness and be lost, or do you want to go through
the door which is still open? The Scriptures show us the plan of God - the way
which we should walk and how we can escape from darkness.
In the Book of Acts, God’s ‘door’ is to be found everywhere.
You can read about it yourself in Acts 2,37-38; 8,12-17; 10,44-48; 19,2-7.
Whoever believes the Word of God must also be obedient to it. rw
