"The night before..."

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrew 4:16

I trust that you are doing well, with God's help you will make it. It was a long night for Jacob, a night that never seemed to end. Having had a bad day behind him, with yet more to come, he realized that only God could change the situation. Therefore, he prayed a long time, hour after hour passed by, everyone was asleep except for him. Only the noises of the wilderness in the night could be heard. He prayed more earnestly, his problem needed attention, attention from God - His God. The One that promised him blessings and protection. Where was He now? Why is He so quiet? Why was there no answer? Why was there not at least a gentle touch like at other times before?

The night was almost over, with little hope left, he pushed on with what might be his last prayer. Suddenly, something happened, he felt that someone was trying to calm him down. No, not in this situation, I need more that the usual, I need a miracle. -"Just take it easy, Jacob don't worry." No, I need reassurance that everything will be alright. I will not let you go, I will not be quiet, I will not go back to sleep. His prayer became more intense, and he continued pleading for his family, for his wife, and children. Make Esau turn around, he is too strong for me. I will lose everything that I have worked for. I will lose the blessings that You blessed me with. Esau is cruel, don't You know that the last time I saw him he wanted to kill me? I saw it in his eyes, he was waiting for the right moment. He is not one that forgets a mistake. He has over 400 men with weapons with him and he knows that I am here. He is now on his way.

Tomorrow I will meet him, tomorrow I will die. My children will lose their father, my wives will be alone. Who will care for them? He carried on praying, he did not let go of heaven, he did not give up believing. The night was almost over, he knew that if he kept on praying and pleading, then heaven's door would open up for him. He believed that if he could touch God, he would get an answer and another blessing. With faith and assurance he held onto HIS God, and God finally blessed him with even more than what he asked for. Can you hold on and believe until you get your answer?
What a testimony Jacob has. Let us continue to trust in our God who holds the world in one hand, for who the nations are nothing more than a drop of water in a bucket. God will soon shake the heavens and the earth again, both the visible and invisible world, this will soon take place. Before He comes He will answer the prayers of His saints for revival, a much greater revival than ever before, even in nations where Satan thinks he has a firm grip and control over. rw
