Acts 10:3-4 About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly
in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, "Cornelius!"
And when he observed him, he was afraid, and said, "What
is it, lord?" So he said to him, "Your prayers and
your alms have come up for a memorial before God.
It is almost impossibe for us to describe God's capabilities
and it is impossibe to analyse Him! However, I would like
to make it clear to you, if God is in the center of your life,
everything is possible and, without doubt, He will do everything
for you. God is a zealous God and He wants you to be completely
serious about what you are involved in.
God's will is revealed in His Word and because He is unchangeable,
you can build upon His WORD, for HE is the rock of ages, see
Deuternomy 32:4.
With His left arm, He can take hold of your whole past and
with His right hand, He can grasp your future and is able
to change it.
Cornelius: For many years, he fasted, prayed, gave alms, he
did not give up nor did he make compromises, he is a god-fearing
person and his whole household too. All his prayers which
he had prayed were from the past, however, there came a day
in which God entered into the centre of his life. That was
the day when the angel appeared to him and said, "Your
prayers have been heard."
In this case, God takes all the prayers of Cornelius from
the past with His left hand and looks at them closely. In
the same moment, He stretches out His right arm and takes
the future of Cornelius and changes it through the gospel.
He says, "Let Peter be called and he should tell him
what he has to do." All that had not yet taken place,
however, it was already in the plan of God. Peter meets with
Cornelius and preaches, whereupon, Cornelius and those in
his household receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Immediately,
they wash their sins away in Jesus' name in water. Acts 10:45-48
The past is rewarded and the future is transformed. He received
hope and eternal life and freedom from sin! Why? Because Cornelius
was in it with his whole heart. rw
