When God is for us
Jos 1:1 Now
after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the
LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,
Jos 1:2 Moses my servant is
dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people,
unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
Jos 1:3 Every place that the
sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said
unto Moses.
Jos 1:4 From the wilderness
and this Lebanon even unto the great river, the river Euphrates, all the land
of the Hittites, and unto the great sea toward the going down of the sun,
shall be your coast.
Jos 1:5 There shall not any
man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses,
so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Jos 1:6 Be strong and of a good
courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land,
which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
Jos 1:7 Only be thou strong
and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law,
which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand
or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
Jos 1:8 This book of the law
shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and
night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein:
for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good
success.
Jos 1:9 Have not I commanded
thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed:
for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Rom 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can
be against us?

There are doors which will never open for people who do
not believe.
These are the doors:
1. doors of victory
2. doors of revival
3. doors of great spiritual success
These doors are there and are waiting to be opened by somebody
who has faith in the One and living God. These are doors which have been closed
for centuries and are still waiting to be opened by somebody. Someone who
believes like the apostle Paul, who said, “I can do all things through
Christ which strengtheneth me.” Phil. 4,13
He was one of those who moved the cities with his faith; won souls for Christ,
all by the leading and power of the Holy Spirit.
Where are the soul winners today? Yes, the devil has his soul winners, we
already know them and they are known in the world. One of them is called “Hollywood”,
and it draws millions into its spell who worship and adore it.
All that Paul said at that time was, “Lord, what do you want me to do?”
Like many others, he was faithful until death. The statement made by Paul,
“who can be against us when God is for us?” it simply means that
nobody is capable of defeating the church in battle. They might be able to
fight against the church, but they will not be victorious over the church!
This also corresponds to the words of Jesus who said, “The gates of
hell shall not prevail against it,” neither in the east, the west, the
south and not even in the north! Jesus said it and that is adequate in itself.
Neither were they able to defeat the church in the first century, and nor
will they be able to defeat the church in this century - in this very present
day and time. Those who take their faith in Christ seriously will not be overcome
by tradition and worldliness! It is impossible.
Moses died and the question among the Israelites was:
“Who is going to lead us now?” Then God called Joshua to enter
into a new dimension, and gave him his word that no one would be able to stand
in his way his whole life long. With other words, “Joshua, when I am
with you, who is able to come against you?” As a result of these words
of God, Joshua had confidence and faith that everything would work out as
according to what God had promised him. He had a promise, a goal, a direction,
and a vision. God would be with him until the end – What is your goal,
your vision, your promise and task which you have received from God? Stand
up and go forward in faith like Joshua. Hold on to the written Word of God.
