Islam the Fastest-Growing Religion?
Many people think Islam is the fastest-growing religion
in the world. Not true. Islam is growing fast, but Christianity is growing
faster. Indeed there are twice as many Christians as Muslims in the world
today and the gap is becoming larger. Moreover, Christianity has become
the world's only religion that is truly universal. Islam too has a wide
reach, but Islam has only a small presence in the United States, Canada,
Central and South America, and Australia. Christianity, by contrast, is
strong everywhere in the world except the Middle East. Islam is growing
mainly through reproduction, which is to say by Muslims having large families.
Christianity is growing both through reproduction and through conversion.
So if Christianity is growing so fast, why don't we see it? Because the
growth is occurring mainly in Asia and Africa.
Isaiah 9:6-7 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Psalm 45:6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.
