At the table
of Jesus
Exodus 40,4 And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order
the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring
in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof.
The Christian life is the most wonderful life; one full of blessings
already and has the promise of eternal life. IN Jesus Christ we have
protection for He is the Rock, and we receive everything that we need
from Him. Jesus Christ is not only reigning as Lord, but is also a father
who cares for His own. What does the Word tell us in regards to our
sitting at the table of the Lord, and what can we expect to find on
this table laid before us?
There is no condemnation there for you {Romans 8,1}.
There you are free from the law {Romans 7,6}.
You are near to God {Ephesians 2,13).
You are free from the power of evil {Colossians 1,13).
You are an important part in the kingdom of God {Col. 1,13).
You are justified {Romans 5,1).
You are perfect {Hebrews 10, 14).
You have been adopted {Romans 3,13).
You can come into the presence of God at anytime {Eph. 2, 18).
You are part of the priesthood (1. Peter 2,9).
You will never be forsaken (Hebrews 13,5).
You possess an incorruptible inheritance (1.Peter 1,4).
You have received life with Christ {Colossians 3,4},
participation in the rights of the saints (Ephesians 2,6),
in suffering (2. Tim. 2,12) and in serving {l.Cor. 1,9}.
These are the advantages of following Jesus!
Psa. 23,5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine
enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
1.Kings 4,27 And those officers provided victual for king Solomon,
and for all that came unto king Solomon's table, every man in his month:
they lacked nothing.
Ezekiel 44,16 They shall enter into my sanctuary, and they shall
come near to my table, to minister unto me, and they shall keep my charge.
Luke 22,30 That ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom,
and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
l.Cor. 10,21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of
devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table
of devils.
Mark 7,27 But Jesus said unto her, Let the children first be filled:
for it is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it unto
the dogs.
28 And she answered and said unto him, Yes, Lord: yet the dogs under
the table eat of the children's crumbs.
