Theme: Unfruitful trees

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in the season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous but the way of the ungodly shall perish. Psalm 1:1-6

Every generation upon this earth has had its share of ungodly and God-fearing people. Just like it was at the time of King David it is still the same today. But as according to God's Word it will not be that way forever. Who are the righteous and who are the ungodly? What does David say? The righteous people are those who separate themselves from the scornful and do not heed to their advice. Everyone's doing that, the mockers say, just a few lies; a little bit of stealing here; and deceive someone there. Just a short bout of swearing here; and a quick word there. If you help yourself then God will help you, which means in other words: you cannot expect God to help you, but rather you have to depend upon your own help.

This low-down manner talk is a product of the spirit who is ruling this earth. Could it possibly be true that God is not aware of what is going on? That's a joke! God who is still sitting upon the throne, who's power and understanding is beyond comprehension, from whom absolutely nothing is hidden, and where even the darkness is light, he won't let himself be mocked. Psalm 139:11-12 and Galatians 6:7

Sin came upon mankind on account of Adam’s sin. Each person inherits a sinful nature. But every individual is allowed to choose which way they will go, whether God's way or their own way. If a person follows Jesus Christ, then Jesus Christ will set him or her free from all sin and from the dominion of the sinful nature. If the son, therefore shall make ye free, ye shall be free indeed. John 8:36. You can be set free by being obedient to the Gospel. Whoever does not take the time of grace seriously now and does not let himself or herself be changed through the help of Jesus' Spirit will come onto judgement (see Revelation 21:5-8). So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. Hebrews 9:28

And a lot of profit is being made using the name of Jesus. Those who are profiting think that piety is a moneymaking business (see 1. Timothy 6:5) But if we obey the Word of God and do not imitate the action of the ungodly people, He will see it and will send a blessing which will give us salvation. Try it! Let us be like a tree, which is planted by those rivers of water, close to the Spirit and the Word of God! He sees it! rw
