Matthew 6:7 Jesus says:
And when you pray, do not use vain
repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will
be heard for their many words.
1, Thessalonians 5:17 Paul writes:
Pray without ceasing!
James 5: 1 6 James; says:
Confess your trespasses to one
another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The
effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
As
people, we are dependent on the grace of God. You only have
access to this grace by having a relationship with HIM strengthened
by obedience to His Word.
Jesus does not want us to pray like those who do not know God,
and who always pray and ask for the same things over and over
again throughout the whole day. Even this gets on God's nerves
and He stops listening. HE will listen to a fervent prayer,
and not to words which have been prewritten by other people.
He wants to hear from you the things that you want to tell HIM,
and about that which affects you.
Do you desire to have friendship with HIM or do you only care
about the things which concern you? God is not interested in
playing the role of "Father Christmas" who brings
toys to little folks.
HE fulfilled His part on the cross so that HE could free you
from the power of sin.
However, you must also want this. There is not much time left.
God hears and still listens to prayers. And He answers prayers,
including yours, if they are sincere and you are expecting an
answer.
