John 8:12
Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am
the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk
in darkness, but shall have the light of life. The Pharisees
therefore said unto him, Thou bearest record of thyself; thy
record is not true.
Centuries
have gone by since Jesus Christ said these words to the Jewish
scholars. Their answer was simply: "Thou bearest record
of thyself; thy record is not true."
Even today, the nations of the world, as well as the majority
of Christianity are sitting in spiritual darkness. Why? Because
they believe that Jesus was only a man. They do not accept His
testimony, they do not even try to, they prefer to depend upon
their own wisdom. It is a shame, everything could be completely
different for those people who do not accept His Word. God is
not happy about the death of a sinner. He would prefer it that
the sinner would have been converted to Him. As a result, a
person goes unsaved into eternity, separated from God, without
Christ.
A person only has the opportunity to take a hold of the grace
of God so long as he or she is living on this earth; after his
or her death, judgment comes. This is dead serious! The Bible
clearly states that only Jesus Christ can justify us. Luther
realized this. I do not understand why people of this generation
have not learnt from the past. They live and carry on without
God, as if there was no eternity and no need to care about their
salvation. After death there is nothing - so they believe. The
worldly things, the temporal things are more important for them.
It is no wonder that this world is without light. Nevertheless,
God still has people who are willing to receive His Word.
